Director’s Weekly Production Blog – Monday 2 February 2015

This week I have been dealing with the re-shaping and relaunch of the new narrative of Control Loss. I have reshaped the narrative of the film as the original narrative was just focused on the sleep paralysis and the Entity attack themes and connotations. This was leading the whole look, style and narrative of the film down the typical “nightmare” demon attack that has been done time and time again in the cliche horror genre. I wanted to break free from this. I also felt that the Sleep paralysis and entity attack scenes alone was not enough to sustain the kind of film I wanted to produce.

I wanted to produce a good 10 minute, short new age film, not an experimental horror film. I quite dislike modern horror, but I would work on it in other projects. I love Sci-fi, thrillers and the paranormal as well as what we label new age (esoteric new age not the stereotypical hippy new age). So I wanted to go back to my original narrative of Entity attack / alien encounter, 24 hours of paranoia and possession leading to exciting climax. However it would be an updated and slimed lined version of the narrative as my original got over complicated with the characters and cramming too much of the possession over the narrative timeline.

As for the relaunch, I am currently working on the social network sites and etc to recreate the branding and letting audiences know about the relaunch.

As you can imagine, me being writer, director and producer, this entails a lot of online socialising and a lot of paper work and creation / creative sessions. But this is all part of the fun of my work.

Thank you for reading and stay tuned for all updates. The next Director’s Production Blog edition will be released on Friday 6 February 2015.
